Are you a certified contractor and what does it really mean?

All Certified Aquascape contractors(CAC)are required to attend continual training and education seminars and maintain a proven record of outstanding work and dedicated customer service and support. All contractors who wish to become Certified Aquascape Contractors must complete and in-depth application that includes referrals, pictures of completed ponds, and general questions about their business and water gardening philosophy. These applications are then reviewed by Technical Agents at Aquascape and a review board made up of other established CAC's. Some of the factors the review board looks at when reviewing an application are: Training - All CACs are trained and educated by Aquascape Inc Quality - A CAC's workmanship must be approved by Aquascape Inc's own construction crew. Knowledge - A CAC is knowledgeable and trained on all Aquascape Products and has the ability to answer any questions you may have with your pond. Customer Service - CACs must provide outstanding customer service. Dedication - These installers are established, dedicated companies in the pond building profession. Continued Education – They must attend Build-A-Pond Days and other pond-related seminars throughout the year. Teamwork - CACs work closely with Aquascape Inc and their distributors to ensure only the highest quality ponds are installed. All CACs must be in good standing with both Aquascape Inc and their distributor.

How long does it take to have a watergarden installed?

It takes usually one day to a month to install watergarden plans. The length depends on how large a project you decide to go with.

How deep does my pond need to be?

It only needs to be 2-3 feet deep in one area of the pond. The rest of the pond can be 6"-2 feet.

Do I have to put fish in my pond?

Fish are necessary to help keep balance in a 'natural' successful watergarden. They also make it more alive with their color & movement. Fish help keep balance by eating algae, insects, and the dying back foliage. (you do not need to feed them)

Isn't it a lot of work to take care of a pond or waterfall?

The lastest technology for garden ponds and water filtration works -while it mimicks nature. This 'new' system has lowered the maintenance time in ponds and made them more affordable than in years past. Using natural bacteria regularly, the right amount of shade, the right amount of plants, and fish(in a pond)all keep your waterfall/pond working naturally and looking beautiful. It will not always be as clear as a swimming pool, but no masses of green! As long as you have the right ecological system- it will always be beautiful!

What do I do with the fish in the winter?

Fish, like Koi and goldfish can be successfully kept and bred in water that is only 2 feet deep as far north as Zone 4 (MN).

Can I go to some of your past customers and see your work?

We have great customers who will let you come and see there watergarden! And you can always come by and visit our very own in Pewaukee.

Do I need to add water every week?

NO! Based on the size and splash of your project, you may never need to add water or only ocasionally based on rainfall and direct sunlight.

I want to build my own watergarden but I am afraid I could have problems afterward- What would you reccommend?

We offer consulting service for those who like to create their own project. This would be less stressful than having to tear apart later to fix "the problem".

Do I have to add chemicals?

The ecosystem works with nature and we only use natural bacteria to supplement this system. The bacteria is only harmful to the algae!
